Samsung has recently rolled out a range of stylish and impressive series of plasma HDTV to rival the models from plasma experts like Panasonic and Pioneer. Although I wouldn't say that the Samsung plasma TV series are set to take over the plasma TV market, but Samsung did manage to create some unique selling points.
For instance, the Samsung PN50B550 50-inch plasma HDTV is one of the best plasma TVs that you can buy for around $1000. At the time of writing, it retails for around $1059 each. A 50-inch full HD (1080p) plasma HDTV at this price is just an excellent bargain.
This Samsung plasma TV model comes with 2 SRS Tru Surround HD speakers (20 watts). Connectivity wise, it comes with the standard set of connectors that includes 1 HDMI port on the side, 3 on the back, a USB port on the side. It is also an Energy Star compliant device. Samsung has a Greenpeace policy rating of 7.1 out of 10, one of the highest among any electronics manufacturer.
The most important issue of any HDTV is its picture quality, and we are happy to announce that this Samsung plasma TV model did not disappoint. The video playback quality is amazing, especially in a dimly lit room. The black-levels were very dark and the shadow details were good. The colors were very accurate with natural flesh tones and vibrant colors. Although the image quality this Samsung plasma TV is not as good as the more expensive plasma models, the Samsung PN50B550 50-inch plasma HDTV came extremely close. For a modest price of just $1059, this model has one of the best values around for a full HD (1080p) plasma HDTV.
