This smartphone may bear the same Sensation name, but this is not the simple update of HTC's former flagship. The HTC Sensation XL is truly one upgrade to remember.
Let us talk about the reasons why this is no mere upgrade. For one, this handset now boasts a bigger screen size. The Sensation comes in with a 4.3″ screen, while the Sensation XL now comes in with 4.7″ screen. The number may be small, but when it comes to smartphones it is quite huge.
Another big change is the phone's 1.5GHz single-core processor. The Sensation comes in with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor. Yes, HTC should have kept its dual-core processor instead of downgrading it to a single-core processor. There is also the addition of the Beats in-ear headphones and Beats Audio to the package.
The XL runs Android Gingerbread version and it also have HTC Sense UI. With this, you will have an improved Android functions. You also do not have to wait that long for the latest Android iteration to land on this phone. Sometime this year, the Ice Cream Sandwich will arrive to the Sensation XL.
The phone's 4.7 inch screen and its 480 x 800 resolution will give you bright and lively colors. You will love reading small text and brighter and colorful images on this. Who needs a 720 x 1,280 resolution when what you will get on this can match higher resolution? I mean, it's the basically just the same when you have the Sensation XL.
As mentioned earlier, this phone ships with an 8MP rear camera. It also comes in with 1.3MP front-facing camera. The phone's main camera will bring you colorful images with low noise. When it comes to video, you can shoot at a whopping 720p. You can also turn on the camera flash if you want to shot videos in the dark. If you love to use Skype, then its front-facing camera will do the trick for you.
Even if this phone uses a single-core processor only, you won't have any problem when it comes to its performance. Everything will remain smooth at all times; this is even if you are running multiple apps at the same time. In short, slowing down is not an option for this handset.
The phone may not have a memory card slot, but don't take it against it. What it lacks can be easily replaced with its powerful performance. The HTC Sensation XL is not your simple update.
