The Razer Blade Pro
The Razer Blade Pro is a gaming laptop series from Razer. As opposed to the 14-inch standard Razer Blade, this new gaming laptop offers a 17.3-inch display with improved graphics and display resolution. It still retains some of the features that were present in last year's model, such as Intel Core i7 4700HQ processor.
Razer Blade Pro: Features
It has an Nvidia GeForce GTX 860M display that offers an improved graphic display compared to last year's model. Nvidia also offers some additional features in its 800M series, which includes Battery Boost and ShadowPlay.
ShadowPlay allows for automatic footage capturing during gameplay without affecting the performance of the game. This feature is especially useful for gamers who are obsessed with sharing screen captures of their favorite gaming actions. Battery Boost allows for steady performance of games at 30 frames per second, though it can be adjusted to suit the gamer's preference.
This gaming laptop is powered by an Intel Core I7 processor and 16GB of DDR3/1600 memory, which has doubled that of last year. It comes with several storage options, including 128, 256 or a 512-GB SSD. 3 USB 3.0 ports are fitted on the left of this PC as well. Other ports include a combo headphone/microphone port, HDMI port and an Ethernet port. Wireless options include Bluetooth 4.0 and an 802.11 ac Wi-Fi adapter.
Performance
In terms of performance, many competitors deliver a more superior performance than the Blade Pro though it manages to exceed the 60 frames per second requirement that is desired by most gamers. However, playing too heavy of a game may affect performance.
Battery Life
The New Razer Blade Pro offers a decent battery life, which exceeds 3 hours during game play. While many other gaming laptops deliver similar results, they are thicker and heavier than the Blade Pro, which boasts itself as the lightest and thinnest gaming laptop in the world. For this key reason, this version, distinguishes itself as the most viable gaming laptop for gamers with frequent traveling needs.
Keyboard
It has a backlit keyboard that offers standard features. It comes with modified scissor switches with have been designed by Razer themselves. It also hosts the N-key rollover that allows multiple keys to be held down without affecting PC performance.
SwitchBlade
The SwitchBlade is a low-resolution touchscreen display found to the right of the keyboard. It's a feature that is missing on the standard Razer Blade and allows gamers to enjoy chats, watch videos and browse social media sites on the miniscreen while playing their favorite games on the main screen.
Razer has certainly set a new standard in mobile gaming and even though not all aspects of the laptop are cutting-edge, it remains a force to be reckoned with
