Everybody knows all about the quintessential sports themed Man Cave, and that's great, but if you aren't a sports fan, you should still be able to reap the benefits of having an all out awesome room dedicated to your passion, too! Below, you'll find five Man Cave ideas that have nothing to do with sports and everything to do with awesomeness.

1. For The Gamer

For this idea, you'll want to have at least one (if not all) of the current generation gaming consoles, an HDTV, a surround sound speaker set up and either a dedicated ethernet hub near the consoles or a wi-fi connection for online fragging. Hanging posters of your favorite games on the walls is also a big plus.

2. For The Home Theater Fan

The focal point of the home theater Man Cave is the television screen, so make sure you have an HDTV with a nice picture and baked-in Netflix (an interface for streaming Netflix right to your TV). Secondly, you want to make sure you have a great sound set up that you can fine tune so you never miss any dialogue or detailed sounds (like the tinkling of glass in an explosion). Some other must-haves for this man cave theme are a Netflix subscription, a Blu-ray player and a popcorn popper.

3. For The Game Room Enthusiast

Some of the best Man Caves are actually just game rooms in disguise! Whether you like billiards, table soccer, ping-pong or darts, you'll be able to find a ton of different ways to decorate and lay the room out. This Man Cave idea doesn't rely on a television as the focus, so you'll want to build the focus around your favorite game room game. Pool tables, as well as dart boards make great focal points for a game room. Go the extra mile and splurge on a wall mounted scoreboard for a nice finishing touch.

4. For The Old English Pub Crowd

Home bars are awesome for obvious reasons, but if you're a true English pub enthusiast, you should really take this idea to the next level and pick up a pub table with matching bar stools. That, and there are places where you can buy actual, wooden old English pubs that you can install in your house. Of course, this is the kind of design idea that screams out for classic wooden pub signs and beer logo glasses.

5. For The Tech Lovers

Similar to the Home Theater theme above, the Hi Tech Man Cave revolves around a web connected HDTV, a Blu-ray player and a great sound system (if you want to really go the extra mile, you could even drop some early adopter bucks on a 3D ready television). You'll also need a wi-fi internet connection and a subscription to Netflix (again, so you can stream content right to your TV). The main component that brings this all together (other than the TV itself) is a media server. I'd recommend the newly revamped Apple TV. It's tinier and more powerful than its predecessor and it lets you stream all kinds of content from the computers on your network, YouTube, and of course the iTunes store.

So, you see there are a lot of ways you can get all the benefits of having a room dedicated to your hobby without it having to be sports related. I hope you've enjoyed these five quick ideas for non-sports themed Man Caves and are able to put some of them to use in your own home bar or game room today.
